The quantum theory is challenging and overturning almost all conventional belief systems. Scientist Roger Ebert recently even proposed a rationalistic and logical explanation to reincarnation (!) through quantum theory. The NIST is also a major center of international quantum research. The national Institute of Standards and Technology recently unveiled the path breaking concept that a calculated loss of systemic data can actually be beneficial from a quantum perspective.

So, the scientists are actually saying that purported data loss in quantum computing systems can actually increase the efficiency of these machines. This is definitely a difficult-to-believe concept because the constant focus of all computing systems is to find ways for effective data preservation (and not elimination). Scientists explained that they have been able to link and entangle the quantum characteristics of two ions by the judicious leakage of selected data into the environment.

The usual practice with quantum computing research is to shield the ions adequately from any influence of external environment. The quantum state is highly fragile. External conditioning factors like interference/noise and minimal heat generated from the circuit components cause the system to collapse. Maintaining the persistence of the quantum system is a major challenge for the scientific community. The collapse means data loss and impediments to logical interpretation of the data.

Trying to think a solution, the researchers went outside the box. (Whether all of them had coffee was unknown though.) Eventually, the brains of the collaboration team from University of Copenhagen, Denmark and NIST came upon the conclusion to transform the bug into an active component of the computing protocol instead of trying to avoid or redact it. What they did was quite awesome! Instead of shielding the quantum environment from external influence, they channelized the system to connect with the external factors in trying to achieve effective entanglement between the two ions.

‘Entanglement’ is a critical feature of the quantum universe and is imperative to facilitate the processing and transport of quantum data. The scientific community is working like a conscious collective to facilitate the evaluation of quantum, which is evident from similar researches coinciding from different sources. The interpretation of consciousness is yet another milestone realization of this era and scientists are using quantum theory to illustrate the elusive connection between mind and body. The NISL-Copenhagen University research paper coincided with the publication of a similar research by Yale University scientists focusing on quantum applications in semiconductor circuitry.  In the NIST experiment, the scientists developed two qubits of berrylium ion for storing quantum data. Two partner magnesium ions also entered into the experiement, after going through a laser cooling process. Scientists used three finest ultraviolet laser beams to cool the ions and release the trapped heat. Then, the scientists entangled the berrylium qubits using the ultraviolet laser beams in such a way that it could release any unwanted quantum information to the external environment. They set up the release channel through constant microwave application and using a single ultraviolet laser beam. The results were highly promising as the qubits were at the perfect entangled state for 75 % of the experiment.
